DRM's cargo team has made Monroe one of the premiere ports on the Great Lakes. We specialize in handling, staging, and trans-loading heavy lift and oversized components for local and regional projects.
DRM made its first foray into the maritime industry with bulk cargoes. We provide solid, proven strategies for the movement and handling of traditional bulk materials including coal, iron ore and beyond. Our broad expertise in material handling, infrastructure, and port facilities is a key to enabling production efficiencies.
We are strategically positioned to handle high value processed and semi-processed goods that are efficiently transloaded from the Port of Monroe and moved into the industrial heartland of the American Midwest.
The Port is dual serviced by Canadian National and Norfolk Southern. DRM provides transloading services involving truck, rail, or vessel. The Port’s new rail spur alongside its Turning Basin dock makes direct ship-to-rail and rail-to-ship transfers possible. Another spur is available for use near the Turning Basin dock. Two spurs are located off Borchert Park Drive for additional transloading operations.
The Port of Monroe is comprised of over 600 acres of property with immediate access to 80 acres of laydown space. Additional storage options are available as needed for specific project needs.
